My latest "want saw" is the husky 338xpt modified for carving.
- It would need a back handle
- It would need the California stuff removed.
- It would need to be ported and polished.
- It would need a carving bar and mathing sprocket.
- It would have ss carving chain.
At 45ccs' and 7.5 lbs it would be fast and light.
It always starts with a dream.

I "saw a saw" in the paper the other day and called about it. The seller said it was an 280 pro saw, and that it was six years old. I went over ther to check it out, I listened to it run and wanted it right there and then. The chain was hanging off the bar about 2", I asked about that and he said he put it on fast and forgot to tighten it. I was still suduced by the sound of the saw and offered him 150.00 for it, we met in the middle for 160.00. I got the saw home and noticed it was'nt oiling and that it was a 028AV and had electronic & quickstop written under that. I was thinking I hope I haven't bought a junker. The next day I cleaned it up, unclogged the oiler put a new chain on it, went down to the dealer and found out(by the serial #) that saw was made 1979-1983. It runs like a top, oils great and is 22-26 years old. I was lucky next used saw I will make a check list and check it out in the day light.
